- Phase 1 — Choose material: laminate vs vinyl vs tile vs carpet
- Phase 2 — Measure and order: square feet, waste %, boxes or yards

One-weekend floating floor plan
Thursday: measure, order boxes with waste, buy underlay and install kit. Friday: remove old floor and baseboard, patch subfloor, start acclimation. Saturday: underlay and first half of room. Sunday: finish rows, undercut door jambs, transitions, reinstall trim.
