How do I calculate flooring square footage?
For each rectangular room, multiply length × width in feet. Add all rooms together, then multiply by (1 + waste%) for the amount to buy.

Length × width — the foundation of every estimate
For each rectangular room, multiply length by width in feet. A 10×14 living room is 140 sq ft. Add every room you are flooring in one colour before applying waste.

Raw area vs area with waste
